So Very Pathetic

OK, I’m really, really trying to be positive here.

I really believe that in everyone’s life, there are times when you’re on top of a mountain, and sometimes you’re down in a valley.

I’m in a bit of a valley right now.

Honestly, I think the end of summer is kind-of getting me down. Isn’t that crazy? But I think that I really enjoy the summertime and the warm weather more than most people do.

What I really need to do is think of things that I actually enjoy about the fall.

Like hot apple cider…Chicago Bears games (when they win, anyway)…a cup of hot coffee on a cool day…the crunch of leaves underfoot…getting to wear clothes I haven’t worn in a while (it’s like a new wardrobe!—whoo hoo!)…apple and pumpkin season…a cool walk in a colorful forest…

Can anyone else think of any other good things about fall?

Does anyone else feel the way I do?

I know I’ll be up on top of that mountain sometime again soon…but in the meantime, I will just have to try to be grateful for all the good things in my life—like my wonderful husband, a job that I enjoy, and great family, friends, and blog buddies!

I hope you know I appreciate y’all! I really do.

OK, now that I wrote all this, I am looking back at what I wrote, and I’m thinking:

Oh poor Miss Healthypants. She’s so depressed about the damn weather. There are people in the world that don’t have enough to eat, and I’m depressed about THE WEATHER.

My, how pathetic I am!

I am exactly what’s wrong with America.

Weather is a proven factor in people's mood's and attitude. I'm way more bitter in the winter.

Although I don't hate fall... something about the air. I do hate that fall is too short, and that it means winter could show up any day. Because I really hate winter.

I got a little bit down when it was too cold for my toes in sandals the other day. Otherwise, I completely love the fall. It is my favorite time of the year - sweatshirt and pants weather!

You are completely untitled to feel how you feel. I get depressed sometimes in fall but it's because its still to damn hot. I miss all the good things you posted about fall. It's just not right to cook thanksgiving dinner in shorts!

I don't know that I'd go that far, doll face. Pretty much, by my estimation, you represent more about what's right with America than anything else.

Fall is my all time favorite time of year. Partly because it's the time of my anniversary, birthday and The Spouse's birthday. Also crunchy leaves. Also cool mornings that turn into warm days then back into cool evenings, which guarantees dew in the morning. And the moon always looks really cool in the fall.

It is OK to feel down....I am missing summer already too....I do love the autumn season but i know that winter is fast approaching....I get depressed over weather a lot. I think being a productive, contributing citizen is just fine young lady. You are not responsible for the woes of the world...my dad telling me there were starving kids in china didn't make me like the taste of meat loaf. Right now all we can do is put one foot in front of the other.

Awww...don't be so hard on yourself! Like what everyone else said..you're a thousand times what's RIGHT about America! Turn that frown upside down!
Please don't laugh when I say we have fall here in SoCal, because we do....it is when everything catches on fire. But the things I love best about the cooler weather is wearing my cozy Thinsulate pull-over and I also get to wear my clogs again.
Plus fall is all about setting up our yard haunt!
When I lived in WI, I used to get really depressed on Labor Day cause I really hated winter.

I have always liked fall, maybe because my time is highly structured. Such a creature of habit I am

I could bring up other weather factors like -- you could be in Texas --- or even in Albany Park!

Costumes!!!! Concerts -- there are so many in the fall! Um.. I would talk about those two teams (who shall not be named) who are still playing!

Fall is the time the world slows down just a little bit and catches its breath after the whirlwind of summer activities. I like the slower pace of cooler weather because it gives me time to think rather than do. Good books, snuggly blankies, and a warm pool of lamplight call to me.

Sling, Mouse, and Speck--I loved to hear your thoughts about the fall...thanks for sharing! :)

I am right there with you on this one, Miss Healthypants. I feel depressed about the coming low light and cold weather. I usually go into hibernation mode which pisses me off. I eat too much, I sleep all the time or wish I were sleeping all the time. I guess my answer to this problem at least this year is to find someone (that would be a guy, btw) I can have a lot of sex with so I can at least have fun while I exercise.
What do you think? And was that TMI for you?

Hang in there and we'll keep each other in good spirits.

Greeny, I'm so glad that I have a "weather soulmate" who understands where I'm coming from here. :)

We both need to have lots more sex with men so we can burn off the calories wasted by consuming too much food and drink in hibernation! *grin*

And of course, for me that means sex with Iwanski. Man, not men. *grin*
