Hattie the Birder
Lately, Iwanski and I have spent a lot of time in city parks and along the lakeshore, looking for unique migratory birds. I guess you can say that we're really into birding.
Apparently so is Hattie the cat. I woke up in the morning and found her lying here, next to this book. She had apparently been studying the "menu" during the night.

That's one big cat. We have one who looks a lot like her. He's an outdoor stray who seems to have adopted us (okay, maybe I feed him).
Hattie is a very smart kitty.
Yeah, I would love to see what Hattie would do if a bird flew into your apartment. I don't think we'd see her for WEEKS.
good for Hattie. wow, she is a big kitty. we have big kitties here, too. the eldest used to be an indoor/outdoor cat, the younger three have never set foot outside (unattended or unleashed). the eldest used to be a grand hunter, of birds, but mostly of moles. a few wks back a mouse found its way into our home, and the eldest caught it. good boy. wanted to let you know i have de-lurked and added you to my blogroll. make today GREAT~

That's quite a cat you have there. It's clear that the quality of her food is as important to her as the quantity.
I was gonna say ~ looks like she's already indulged in a bird or two. I do love seeing unique birds. Seen a few "scrub jays" lately. They are bright turquoise on their backs. I've heard a rumor that at one of the nearby parks they'll come right up and let you hand feed them. Gonna try that someday soon.
